Day 01

Ayn Ghyd Spring Hike & Swim: Western Salalah Nature Trail

Your Salalah hiking tour begins with a drive through the Dhofar Mountains, where the road rises steadily, and the landscape opens into calm, green slopes. The first part of the morning feels like a soft Salalah mountain trek, with cool air and gentle trails guiding the pace of the day.

A 45-minute hike leads you through foggy hills and soft trails until Ayn Ghyd Spring appears, a clear natural pool tucked between rocks. You can swim, rest by the water, or simply let the quiet of this Salalah spring hike settle in.

The only sounds are footsteps, wind, and distant birds, a quiet moment that feels open and steady, much like a gentle Salalah wadis hike. After the break in the spring, you hike back to the vehicle and return to the hotel.

Taqah Cliff Viewpoint & Wadi Darbat Hiking and Boating

The second morning of your 2-day Salalah hike moves east toward Taqah. From the cliff viewpoint, the Arabian Sea opens beneath you, wide, layered, and peaceful. If you’re lucky, you may spot dolphins swimming close to shore.

Then the trail shifts inland toward Wadi Darbat. You walk along green spaces, small water canals, and shaded paths where camels and goats roam freely. This part feels like a classic Dhofar hiking adventure, slow and scenic.

A short, calm boating trip on Wadi Darbat’s canals adds a soft contrast to the hike, a simple glide across still water. After the visit, you rest briefly before returning to your hotel.

Two days of clear trails, springs, cliffs, and valleys, shaped to show you Salalah’s nature in a calm, steady way. If this rhythm matches how you like to explore, this trip fits perfectly.
