Salalah East West Trip Itinerary

Day 1

Salalah East West Trip: Beaches, Valleys & Samhan Mountain Heights

Your day begins at Taqah Beach, where golden sand meets clear waves and traditional fishing villages sit along the coast. You walk across the open shore, noticing the soft breeze and the mix of green patches along the plateau.

From there, you continue to Wadi Darbat, known for its waterfalls, open fields, and quiet spaces where camels often appear. Boats move gently on the water, and travelers sit under wide tree canopies, an essential stop in any Salalah nature tour.

Next comes the climb through the Qara Mountains, where roads twist through frankincense trees and open viewpoints. The light cools as you ascend, and mountain air moves across the car windows.

The road leads to Samhan Mountain, one of Dhofar’s highest points. Standing at the cliff edge, you see deep canyons stretching into the distance, framing one of the region’s signature Salalah coast mountains views.

Later, you walk among the ancient baobab trees of Wadi Hanna, followed by a short stop at Ayn Haseer Spring, where water flows between rocks in a small valley.

Your final stop is the well-known Anti-Gravity Point, where the car appears to roll uphill, a simple moment that ends the eastern route with a light laugh.

West Salalah Coastlines, Springs & Cliff Views

The morning starts at Ayn Sahlnoot Spring, where still blue water reflects the sky and the surrounding rock formations, a calm beginning to this Salalah east west trip.

You continue toward Mughsail Beach, known for its white stretch of sand and strong coastal waves. The landscape opens widely, and the air carries a light mix of salt and nearby frankincense hills, an easy rhythm that fits a relaxed Salalah weekend tour.

Right beside it lies Marneef Cave and the blowholes, where seawater shoots upward through rock openings. Travelers wait for the spray to rise before taking photos.

A short drive leads to the Hidden Beach Viewpoint, overlooking Masood Beach from a high cliff, quiet, open, and naturally untouched.

You then follow the old Frankincense Trail, walking among trees that have been tapped for resin for centuries.

The route ends along the West Salalah coastline, where cliffs, water springs, and scattered green fields shape the view.

Your final moment is at Eefalquot Cliff, a high outlook above the sea, offering one last clear horizon before returning to the city, a soft finish to this balanced Salalah short break.

This two-day movement through Salalah’s east and west keeps the pace light, the views varied, and every stop easy to enjoy, shaped as a clear, well-paced Salalah holiday package.

When you feel ready for a simple nature break across coasts, springs, and mountains, this trip fits smoothly into your plans.
